China Glaze - Rose Among Thorns

Din momentul in care am intrat in frenezia unghiilor pictate in culori neon, am cautat si un rosu care sa se incadreze in aceasta categorie. Cei de la China Glaze au probabil cea mai mare gama de oje neon si la ei am gasit raspunsul cautarilor mele: Rose Among Thorns!

Since i got carried away into the neon frenzy, i started looking for a red that falls into this category. China Glaze has probably the biggest range of neon nail polishes, and that's where i found the answer to my search: Rose Among Thorns!

Cum se intampla cu majoritatea neoanelor, fotografiile nu surprind nici pe departe adevarata intensitate a culorii. Este mult mai vibranta in realitate! Formula este foarte subtire si e nevoie de trei straturi pentru o acoperire decenta, dar care tot lasa linia unghiei usor vizibila. Eu am foosit doar doua straturi peste o baza de alb pentru o acoperire perfecta si o culoare mai intensa. Finish-ul este satinat si pentru mai multa stralucire trebuie sa folositi un top coat.

Like in the case of most neons, the photos don't show the true intensity of the color. It's a lot more vibrant in reality! The formula is thin and it need three coats for a decent coverage, that still leaves a slightly visible nail line. I used two coats over a white base for a perfect coverage and a brighter color. It dries to satin, so you'll need a top coat for a shiny finish.

Gabrini - Summer Edition C 05 - neon green

Cochetez de ceva timp cu idea de a incerca si un verde neon dar nu am reusit inca sa ma decid intre Kiwi Cool-Ada si In The Limelight de la China Glaze. Probabil o sa ajung sa le iau pe amandoua... Dar pana atunci am incercat verdele neon de la Gabrini, din colectia lor de vara de anul acesta.

I've been contemplating for a while the idea of trying a neon green nail polish but i haven't been able to decide between Kiwi Cool-Ada and In The Limelight from China Glaze. I'll probably end up getting them both... But until then i tried the neon green from Gabrini's Summer Edition collection from this year.

Ce imi place cel mai mult la aceasta oja este ca spre deosebire de majoritatea celor neon, care au nevoi de o baza de alb pentru o acoperire perfecta, aceasta devine complet opaca din doua straturi. Se aplica foarte usor si se usuca destul de repede. Are un finish lucios si este foarte stralucitoare.

What i love most about it is that unlike most neon nail polishes, who require a whiste base for a perfect coverage, this one is completely opaque in two coats. It applies easily and it dries pretty fast. It dries very shiny and is extremely bright. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Orly - Surreal Collection - Fall/2013

Pentru toamna lui 2013, Orly ne propune o colectie atipica pentru acest anotimp, numita sugestiv: Surreal.

For the Fall of 2013, Orly brings us an atypical collection for this season, suggestively named: Surreal.

Colectia contine 6 oje noi: 2 creme, 3 shimmer si o oja cu sclipici. Nuantele alese mi se par atipice pentru o colectie toamna si probabil mai potrivite pentru primavara. Impresia generala este a unei colectii foarte feminine inspirate din povestile cu zane si poate chiar de aceea... Surreal!

The collection consist of 6 new polishes: 2 cremes, 3 shimmers and a glitter. The shades seem atypical for an autumn collection and perhaps better suited for spring. The general impression is of a girly collection inspired by fairy tales and perhaps because for that... Surreal!

Avon - Orange Creamsicle

Orange Creamsicle face parte dintr-o colectia mai veche a celor de la Avon, numita Carnival Colors. Cred ca o am de un an sau doi si nu sunt sigura daca se mai gaseste inca in oferta lor.

Orange Creamsicle is part of an older collection from Avon, called Carnival Colors. I think i have it for about a year or even two, and i'm not sure if it's still available.

 Este o crema portocalie cu finish lucios, dar asta este si singurul lucru bun pe care il pot spune despre ea. Formula e groaznica! Este foarte subtire si inunda cuticulele iar pentru poze am folosit trei straturi si inca mai se mai pot observa zone neacoperite perfect. E posibil sa fie totusi o problema numai cu sticluta mea, pentru ca alte fete nu au avut asemenea  dificultati.

It's an orange creme with a shiny finish, but that's the only good thing i can say about it. The formula was horrible! It's very thin and floods your cuticles, and for the photos i used 3 coats and still had some bald spots. But it might be a problem only with my bottle, because other girls haven't had any trouble with it.

Essence - Wak of Fame

Nu sunt o fana a culorilor neutre dar orice femeie trebuie sa aiba si o asemenea nuanta de baza pentru momentele in care un rosu stralucitor sau un verde intens nu sunt  alegeri potrivite. Pentru asemenea ocazi oja mea preferata este Walk of Fame, de la Essence.

I'm not big on neutrals but every woman should have such a basic shade in her stash, at least for those moments when a fiery red or an intense green aren't a proper choice. For those circumstances my go to nail polish is Essence's Walk of Fame.

Walk of Fame variaza in functie de lumina; uneori pare mai gri, alteori vireaza spre maro, iar in lumina slaba pare mult mai rece si inchisa. Ca si formula este o crema ce se aplica usor si ofera acoperire perfecta din doua straturi. Este identica cu Yana a celor de la Zoya dar puteti gasi mai multe nuante asemanatoare si la OPI (You Don't Know Jacques) sau China Glaze (Below Deck).

Walk of Fame varies according to the light; it sometimes looks more grey, other times it leans towards brown and in low light it's cooler and darker. formula wise it's a cream that applies easily and gives full coverage in two coats. It's a dupe of Zoya's Yana but you can find simmilar shades from OPI (You Don't Know Jacques) and China Glaze (Below Deck).

SpaRitual - Color Trip

Color Trip este un roz electrict din colectia Kaleidoscope din vara lui 2010 a celor de la SpaRitual.

Color Trip is an electric pink from SpaRitual's Kaleidoscope Collection, from the Summer of 2010.

 Culoarea poate fi descrisa si ca magenta dar este suficienta de intensa pentru a fi considerata neon. Devine completa opaca din trei straturi, doua lasand linia unghiei putin vizibila. Se usuca satinat asa ca aveti nevoie de un top coat pentru mai multa stralucire.

The color can be described as magenta but it's bright enough to be considered a neon. It's opaque in three coats, two leaving a visible nail line. It dries to satin so you will need a top coat for extra shine.

OPI - What's With The Cattitude?

What's with the Cattitude? face parte din colectia OPI - Shrek Forver After si e cel mai frumos bleu pe care l-am vazut!

What's with the Cattitude? is part of OPI's - Shrek Forever After collection and it's the prettiest baby blue i've ever seen!

Cum am spus, oja este un albastru pastel superb, ce imi aminteste de cerul unei zile insorite de vara. Tinand cont ca este inspirata de Puss in Boots m-as fi asteptat sa fie un portocaliu dar cum nici capcaunii din film nu sunt albastrii iar Ogre-The-Top Blue e, se pare ca cei de la OPI si-au luat anumite licente artistice cand au creat colectia. Formula nu e chiar excelenta dar decenta pentru o nuanta pastel: 2 straturi subtiri si un al treilea mai gros ar trebui sa va ofere o acoperire perfecta. Nu se usuca foarte repede dar nuanta merita! Eu pur si simplu o ador!

Like i said, it's a gorgeous light blue that reminds me of the sky on a clear summer day. considering it's inspired by Puss In Boots i would've expected it to be an orange but just like ogres aren't blue and Ogre-The-Top Blue is, it seems OPI took some artistic freedoms  in creating this collection. The formula isn't the best but pretty decent for a pastel: 2 thin coats and a thicker third one should give you perfect coverage. The drying time isn't very fast but this shade is definitely worth it! I just love it!

China Glaze - Bizzare Blurple

Bizzare Blurple face parte colectia China Glaze - Wicked, Halloween 2012. Desi pentru mine Halloween inseamna negru si portocaliu, un duochrome mov-albastru nu e ceva ce pot rata!

Bizzare Blurple is parte of the China Glaze  - Wicked, halloween 2012 Collection. Although for me halloween means black and orange, a purple-blue duochrome is something i can't miss!

 Baza ojei este un mov rece, cu foarte mult shimmer albastru, ceea ce o face sa para mai mult albastra in lumina directa. Nu este cea mai originala nuanta, seamana cu Royal Velvet de la Orly si cu Madly Mauve de la Calvin Klein, dar asta nu o face mai putin frumoasa. Se aplica usor in doua straturi si se usuca foarte repede.

The base is a cold purple with a lot of purple shimmer, that makes it look more blue in direct light. it's not the most original shade, almost a dupe for Orly's Royal Velvet or Calvin Klein's Madly Mauve, but that doesn't make it less beautiful. It applies in two coats and dries very fast.

Essie - For The Twill Of It - Fall/2013

Essie la lansat luna aceasta colectia lor pentru tomana lui 2013: For The Twill Of It.

Essie released this month their new collection for the Fall of 2013: For The Twill Of It.

Colectia contine 6 nuante noi, dar trebuie sa admit ca eu nu sunt prea entuziasmata. In afara de "Cashmere Bathrobe" caruia particulele stralucitoare ii ofera un sarm aparte, celelalte nuante nu sunt prea originale. Chiar si "For The Twill Of It" care da numele colectiei, este o varianta mai putin reusita a "Peace&Love&Opi".

The collection consists of 6 new shades, but i must admit i'm not very excited about it. Besides from "Cashmere Bathrobe" and its charming bits of sparkle, the other shades don't look to original. Even "For The Twill Of It" that names the collection, is a less successful version of "Peace&Love&Opi".

OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls

My Boyfriend Scales Walls face parte din colectia The Amazing Spiderman, lansata de OPI in vara lui 2012.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls is part of The Amazing Spiderman collection, released by OPI in the summer of 2012.

La baza, pare a fi o simpla oja alba dar la o privire mai atenta putem observa ca are o usoara tenta de gri. Asta o face sa fie si o baza buna pentru nail art sau pentru o oja neon dar poate fi purtata si simpla, pentru un look chic si curat. Este perfect opaca in doua straturi si se usuca destul de repede.

At first glance it seems to be a basic white creme but on a closer look we can see it has a slight grey tint to it. This makes it a great base for nail art or for a neon polish but it can also be worn by itself, for clean, chic look. It's opaque in two coats and dries pretty fast.

Flormar - U14 - Miracle Colors

Nuanta U14 din colectia Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors este un rosu intens, cu un discret shimmer auriu. Mi se pare ca seamna cu Smitten With Mittens de la OPI.

The U14 shade from Flormar's Supershine Miracle Colors collection is a bright red with discreet golden shimmer. i think it resembles Smitten With Mittens from OPI.

Este opaca din doua straturi subtiri si se usuca foarte repede. Este foarte stralucitoare si mi se pare perfecta pentru Craciun...chiar si in mijlocul lui August!

It's opaque in two thin coats and it dries pretty fast. It's very shiny and it think it's perfect for Christmas...even in the middle of August!
